Yes, you heard me... I'm learning how to drive, so watch out!
you know when you were a kid & you'd sit in your parents lap and drive how much funn it was? well guys, I hate to tell you but driving for real with your parents isn't funn at all!
I got my permit to drive about 5 1/2 months ago, & I guess you could say I haven't been practicing like I should? I want to drive, I really do, but it's freaking scary. all these cars just coming out of nowhere & honking their horns cause you aren't going fast enough or forgetting to turn on your blinker.... ok maybe it's not like that, but for me it's my parents...
watch out for that mailbox, LAURA WATCH OUT FOR THAT MAILBOX!!!
Mom I see the mailbox.
NO YOU DIDN'T YOU WERE GOING TO HIT IT!
Yea Mom, whatever you say.
then she'll yell at me some more & say that I don't have to drive, that it's a privilege.
Honestly?
& then they ask me why I don't like to drive? think about it!
tip of advice, drive with your grandparents.
My grandmother in Alabama was really the first person to let me drive on an actual road. Last Summer we were coming home from church, and she had let me drive around the parking lot a few times so I guess she just decided to let me just drive home. ***they live out in the middle of nowhere, back roads that kind of stuff.*** So here we go, & I'm already freaking out nervous. & I topped this hill, and @ the bottom was A POLICE ROADBLOCK! but by the time you saw them it was too late, you couldn't turn around or stop & switch drivers. My grandma was just like keep going. by this time I was almost hyperventilating. if you knew my memaw (that's what we call her.) you'd know that she's a people person. She can talk her way out of anything. well almost, she's gotten a few tickets for being a "speed demon" which now that I think about it, she's probably not the right person to teach me how to drive. So we get down to the cops & she's all hey there we just came from church.....she was just buttering him up..... & when he asked for an ID, she showed him her ID. & dude was like no, I need hers! well uh oh. I was 14 with no license & no permit. & my memaw was like she doesn't have one, she's only 14.
holy f.
I was about to cry, I was shaking so bad... I didn't know what was about to happen?
The cop started laughing! yes, laughing!
I guess he saw how scared I was, & my grandma was just crazy, so he let us go, but memaw had to drive the rest of the way home. whew!

I didn't drive again until I was 15 & got my permitand even now I'm still a little freaked out every time I see a cop, it's not that I'm doing anything wrong it's just that they're so intimidating. why can't they just give me a break? my slate is still clean though, no tickets just yet.
What can I say?
